A business analyst is defined as anyone who performs business analysis activities regardless of your title. In fact, many project managers often perform business analysis activities as part of their role. If you meet both the professional experience and education requirements as outlined by PMI, you may qualify to write the PMI-PBA exam.

If you have secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree)

• 7,500 hours of business analysis experience. Regardless of your title, if you have 7,500+ hours where you've performed business analysis activities, you will meet this criterion.
  
• 35 contact hours of education in business analysis. The completion of this course will meet this criterion.
  

If you have a bachelor's degree or the global equivalent

• 4,500 hours of business analysis experience. Regardless of your title, if you have 4,500+ hours where you've performed business analysis activities, you will meet this criterion.
